Dagene i Oslo skal gi muligheter for nye samarbeid og nettverk, gi kunnskap og forståelse for tekstilkunst i Norden, kunnskap og erfaring av tekstilkunst i Norge, inspirasjon og nye muligheter til å fortsette arbeid på egen hånd og i samarbeid. En sentral målsetting er at vi igjen kan møtes å skape nye forbindelser.

On the program 9. - 12. June

Conference day. We are happy to have Britta Marakatt Labba as one of our speakers. On the program also the great artists Kari Dyrdal, Kristine Fornes, Tim Parry-Williams and Franz Petter Schmidt
Textile tour. One stop is Tronrud in Hønefoss where Vibeke Vestby will tell us all about TC1 and TC2 and show us the factory and their textile art collection.
Textile walk in Oslo. We will visit galleries, the Opera house, and the City Hall in Oslo where Jon Pettersen will tell us about the textile art in the building.

And of course; time for networking, social meetings and a good time together.

Wednesday 8.6 – Arrival day, Oslo

Thursday 9.6 – Textile tour - Tekstil rundtur, Oslo-Hørefoss-Noresund

Besøke Tronrud Engineering i Hønefoss, Vibeke Vestby vil vise rundt på fabrikken og presentere tekstilkunst i fabrikkens samling, og fortelle om bredden i hvordan de digitale vevestolene TC1 og TC2 er brukt av kunstnere og håndverkere. Et besøk på skulpturparken utenfor Kistefos, på vei mot Brandbu. Besøke Veveriet Damaskveveriet Grinakervev på Brandbu, omvisning på fabrikken som vever produkter i analoge flatvevestoler, Jacquard vev og mekaniske vevestoler.

Friday 10.6 - Textile walk - Tekstilvandring i Oslo

Tekstilutsmykninger, gallerier og verksteder i Oslo. Besøke for eksempel; Stortinget og Operaen gallerier som viser tekstilkunst Soft/Format/Kunstnerforbundet og andre, Rådhuset i Oslo (tekstilene og «Deres historie fra 1950 tallet og til i dag» med omvisning/foredrag. Jon Pettersen)

Saturday 11.6 - Textile Conference day

Seminar med kunstnerpresentasjoner; Britta Marakatt Labba (S), Kari Dyrdal (N) og Kristine Fornes (N). Presentasjoner av institusjoner; Nordic Textile Art (NTA), Kunsthøyskolen i Oslo (KHIO), Norske tekstilkunstnere (NTK) og European Textile Network (ETN). Professor Tim Parry-Williams (UiB)/ Professor (KHIO) Franz Petter Schmidt presenterer et prosjekt/visjon. Tid til utveksling av kunnskap og nettverksbygging.

Etter konferansen drar vi til Hovedøya hvor Tekstilkunstner Inger Johanne Rasmussen gir oss en forhåndsomvisning i utstillingen sin som åpner for publikum senere i juni. Fest ute på Hovedøya etter at Inger Johanne har hatt vist rundt på utstillingen sin.
Sosiale møteplasser; Etter Corona er det godt å møtes igjen, å ta opp kontakter og lage nye. Felles måltider og en fest som avslutter konferansen gir alle muligheter for alle til å nettverke.

Britta Marakatt-Labba https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britta_Marakatt-Labba

Swedish / Sami textile artist, she is an important driving force in the art environment and in creating an understanding of the Sami culture.

Through detailed embroideries on white linen, she conveys Sami mythology, culture, way of life and historical events. She has participated in significant exhibitions including Sámi Stories in Tromsø, New York and Anchorage, in Dokumenta and Athens 2017, and was Norway's contribution to the Venice Biennale 2017. This year she will represent Sweden in the Venice Biennale.

Kari Dyrdal

Kari Dyrdal is educated in Bergen Academy of the Arts, where she has also been a professor. Her works are characterized by the large size, made on digital fabric looms. She sees patterns and repetitions, structures and systems, surfaces in everything around her. Through the work in the flat looms, where vertical and horizontal threads cross over and under each other in certain ways, she has translated her experiences into artworks. She participated in the exhibition "Forces de la nature" which was shown in France's national museum Musée National de Sèvres in Paris 2018, Kode in Bergen 2019. A lot of her works can be seen in public buildings, among other places, the University Hall in Bergen. https://www.karidyrdal.no/

Kristine Fornes http://www.kristinefornes.no/

Kristine Fornes lives and works in Oslo. She is known for her hand-embroideries with motifs from farms and cultural landscapes that are about to disappear, or caricatured people and other creatures, often embroidered on discarded textiles. She has had solo exhibitions at, among others, Østfold Kunstnersenter, Finnskogutstilling, Lørenskog kunstforening and gallery Format in Bergen. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Norway and abroad. She is handicraft consultant in Oslo and artistic director of Bøler textile workshop.
