Katriina Flensburg

The focus of my work is most often on the visual impact. My growing up in Finland in the environments of architectural functionalism has imprinted on me a strong fascination of minimalistic form and monumental expression.  Another source of inspiration is tissues, their visual and tactile, heavy or light fiber structures and - when printed or painted - their patterns. The Nordic nature with its powerful seasonal changes have an intense and often involuntary impact on my artistic moods and on my use of color. - And lately, my increasing concern over the human behavior towards his fellow beings and towards our planet has made me to address some of my concern in my work.
