I like to work with colors and are interested in how they influence each other, the viewer and the ability the colors have to convey ideas.
The textile works touch upon issues surrounding colour, shape and three-dimensionality. Colour is added with a technique where colour pigments are floating in the water during dyeing.
Kari Hjertholm´s tactile textiles are monumental, while revealing a richness in detail up close. She wants to inspire a mood of quiet and calm.
